ASMOF is the Australian Salaried Medical Officers Federation, which is the Australian trade union registered with the Fair Work Commission to represent the interests of salaried doctors in the private sector and federal jurisdiction.

ASMOF is a federation comprised of branches in all States and Territories, including South Australia. Members include all levels of salaried medical practitioners – interns, residents, registrars, specialists, medical academics, medical administrators and senior medical practitioners.

Members of SASMOA can also become members of the ASMOF (SA Branch). The ASMOF SA Branch is separately constituted and has a separate governing Council to SASMOA. The ASMOF SA Branch Council is elected every 3 years and sends delegates to the Federal ASMOF Council.

Election of SA Delegates to ASMOF Federal Council

The Registered Organisations Commission has made arrangements with the Australian Electoral 
Commission (AEC) under Section 189 of the Fair Work (Registered Organisations) Act 2009 (the Act) to 
conduct a supplementary (recall) election for Federal Council Delegates from South Australia for the Australian Salaried Medical Officers Federation (ASMOF) Federal Council.


Nominations are restricted to existing members of the ASMOF (SA Branch) Council and election materials will be sent directly to those people via email by the AEC. There are two positions available.

Nominations open for 'Doctor in Training' Delegate to ASMOF Federal Council (2021-2024)

The Australian Electoral Commission (“AEC”) has made arrangements for a recall Election to be conducted for the office of Doctor in Training (“DIT”) Delegate to the Australian Salaried Medical Officers Federation (“ASMOF”) Federal Council for 2021-2024.


The first stage of the process is the call for nominations. Nominations open on Monday 23 August 2021 and will conclude at 12 noon AEST (11:30am SA time) on Monday 6 September 2021.
