More about the Streams
Stream 1 – Building a digitally capable medical workforce
This workshop provides opportunities for medical education providers, professionals and other key stakeholders interested in how to foster digital health capabilities across the medical education continuum and workforce (medical school, pre-vocational, Specialist vocational training and CPD). Linked to a partnership project between the AMC and Australian Digital Health Agency, this online workshop provides opportunities for participants to learn how to ensure that their medical education programs integrate digital capabilities into competency frameworks, teaching and learning support, assessment programs and evaluation. The focus of this workshop is  to learn from a panel of experts why digital capabilities matter, share insights into current state analysis of digital capability development and assessment in medical programs nationally and internationally, as well as opportunities to provide feedback on a framework for digital health in medical education and next steps.  This workshop is being conducted in the context of a review to AMC accreditation standards with the likelihood of new requirements for medical education programs across the continuum related to digital health.

Stream 2 – Conducting assessment in a changing environment
Building on earlier AMC workshops on moving to online examinations (2020), and programmatic assessment (2017), this workshop provides education providers with opportunities to engage in effective change to their assessment programs.  The workshop will provide opportunities to explore the need for change and some of the barriers, highlight some common challenges experienced in meeting current AMC standards in assessment, balancing program based assessment with other methods, share good practice examples of assessment programs, and implementation considerations. This workshop will include topics relevant to good assessment practice in general and across the continuum of medical education, with a focus on assessment in specialist medical training.
